Under 5 feet long and thinner than 3 inches. Stack them in piles no heavier than 30 pounds beside the cart.

Large brush, branches and tree limbs
Anything 5 to 15 feet long is Austin's separate brush collection, which you have to book. Three appointments a year for each of bulk, brush and household hazardous waste. Nothing is collected without one.

The rules for everything above

How much

  • The green cart, plus up to 15 items beside it: bags, reusable containers and small branch piles.
  • Each pile beside the cart no heavier than 30 pounds.

Where it goes

  • At the curb, clear of your other carts.

When to put it out

  • Out by 5:30am on your collection day.
  • Austin asks you to prune oaks only between July and January, because of oak wilt, and to paint the cuts straight away.

What Austin does not say

Austin publishes no answer for any weight limit for a booked brush pile. Ask them directly if it matters to you.
