Holiday schedule changes

When a holiday falls in your collection week, there is no pickup on the holiday and every remaining day that week shifts forward by 1 day. Friday collection moves to Saturday. Washington observes 12 collection-affecting holidays, which is not the same list as the federal calendar. Checked against the city's own published schedule on September 5, 2026. DPW slides the whole week after a holiday, through Saturday, so a Monday holiday pushes every later collection that week on by a day. The holidays are the District's legal public holidays, which is what DPW says it follows; we have not seen a dated collection calendar confirming each one.
